If you missed the Trusty Defiant show at the Brick last night, you certainly missed out. Besides being a great show and Trusty pulling out some really cool new songs, they played a cover song. Not just any old song, mind you, but the cover song was one of ours!!! On the second to last song in their set, they broke into "I know how you got old." It was in the Trusty-style that I have come to know and love: mathy and technical but approachable, heavy but still mindful of dynamics, and of course, there was screaming. All three nnhm guys were there (Trusty Defiant later told us that they would only play it if we were all there), and we were all quite honored and impressed. I think I might like their version better than our plaintive piano and singing over weird keyboard noise version. Maybe we can talk them into recording their version and making it available for all to hear. Or at least continue playing it live so folks can hear it.

This Wednesday (November 12), we'll be playing a show not as nnhm, but as a backing band of sorts for the incredible Lee Bozeman. Even more stupendous is the fact that we'll be opening up for the magnificent Ladybug Transistor. It will be a wonderfulrissical evening (sorry- running out of superlatives) at the Replay Lounge in Lawrence, Kansas. Show starts at 10pm and it will be a paltry 2 or 3 dollar cover.
