Wednesday, August 1, 2001 We had a great show last night with I am the World Trade Center. Dan and Amy were really cool. The 8th Street Tap Room was really cool. I'm sure we'll be back there soon. Oh, one really strange thing. Arthur Dodge happened to be there at the show. So that was weird. He seemed to like us a lot, though, so that's cool. Also the our show with the Capsules on Saturday was nice, too. They've got some great sounds going on. Their next record will be on Urinine Records, so keep an eye out for it. Friday, July 13, 2001 The pyro room show got canceled. we're playing at El Torreon that weekend to make up for it. I put a couple of other shows up on the shows page. OH..OH..we started fleshing out some new songs we're working on. Throwing down some demos; seeing where it will lead us. a couple of titles so far: "an unproven theorem", "conspicuous minimalism", "i can't see the moon from here". We'll start recording as soon as we can get up the gumption. Thursday, May. 26, 2001 We're almost out of the original press of CDs. So currently, almost 200 copies of 100,000 subtle times are in CD players across this great nation. Uh...okay probably not, but It is exciting that we have to press more. It seems like we have a slew of shows coming up in June, so that's cool. We're also hoping for a weekend tour in July if the gods look down on us favorably. Maybe we'll get back to recording soon too. We have a bunch of ideas that need to be fleshed out, and laying them down on tape is really how we get there. Anyways, i seem to be rambling on and on, so I'll quit now. Thursday, Mar. 22, 2001 one thousand apologies. Shame on me for not updating the site in a whole month. I waited so long that SiD called me on it. Sorry, SiD. i added some new show dates. we also got a review on toomuchrock.com, it was very cool, so go check it out. Oh, I think the service where we get our guestbook is going away, so don't be surprised if sometime soon the link doesn't go to our guestbook. I'm looking into changing services or building a guestbook myself (or stealing someone else's). I'll leave the link up until then, though. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001 namelessnumberheadman.com is now operational. i guess you know that since you are here. Our gig at the grand emporium went well. we had a good time. Sold a few CDs. GOODING was pretty cool with their whole A/V stuff. They were immensely nice too. We had a lot of friends show up (Thank you all for coming by the way, I think I could name you all here, but I'll spare everyone). Oh, We have pictures of that too. Also we're no longer playing with Mumble and Peg at the Hurricane on March 7, we're now playing with two local groups called El Fontain and the Egomaniacs. Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 Our show on Monday went really well. We had a good time, we were pretty well received, and we sold a CD (to someone we didn't already know). If you want to see pictures from it, go here. we're only in pictures 001 - 010. There might be a review of the show up on too much rock sometime soon. I hope so. There's a new review of the CD over on the press page. I put up a new show on the shows page. It's with a band called Mumble and Peg at the Hurricane. Things are really picking up for us, so keep looking for more shows to come, too. Friday, January 26, 2001 Thanks to Scott Wilson, we have an article about us in this week's PitchWeekly. I (chuck) had a great time talking with him last week, and hope that this brings a little more awareness to what we are doing (i.e. emotional music that doesn't rely heavily on guitars (more succintly: keyboard-rock ( or maybe it's really key-mo))). We're also excited and a little nervous about our FIRST public SHOW coming up on Monday at El Torreon. We are completely ready, but don't know how the audience will react to our keyboard-switching/very-few-stops-between-songs/very-little-annoying-banter antics. We will certainly know on Monday. Thrusday, January 11, 2001 We now have shows!!! Go check it out. Also, thanks to everyone who posted a comment on the Urinine website, we appreciate it. Saturday, December 9, 2000 We are the featured band on the Urinine Records guestbook. It's not just a guestbook, it's a listening room. There's real audio and MP3 of punch hung-over (which isn't up here, so go check it out and tell them what you think of us.) Friday, December 1, 2000 Some MP3s of the new material are up on the album page. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 We've been sending CDs out fast and furiously. Trying to get gigs. Getting them in the hands of out friends. I don't know if i should mention this yet or not, but SiD who runs a totally cool music site, too much rock, said he liked it. Hopefully we can chat with him more about it soon. As Tigger would say, "TTFN" (Ta-Ta for now). Nov. 17, 2000 The demo is done, and has been done for a couple of weeks. We're just now catching up the website to the real world. For information on the CD go here. Other updates....I guess I could tell you that I (chuck) got a sampler. It will most definitely work its way in to the live show. Jason and I have already dropped a couple of tracks onto his 4-track using it. I also got a cheap Pawn Shop Yamaha keyboard. It's got some pretty cool sounds in it. That makes our Keyboard to Artist ratio 9:3 now. Jason released a solo tape of ideas and songs he recorded on his 4-track. I'll have to ask him if he wants me to link to his site. That's about all for now. Hopefully now that we have an album done we will start playing some live shows in the area. So keep an Eye on the site, or you could just sign up for the email list on the front page. We'll keep you informed that way. Sept. 9, 2000 We played a show at the Lamda Chi house at William Jewell. We were very well received. We had a great time. We'll have to do it again soon. We got a lovely write up in the Hilltop Monitor (Jewell's student newspaper). We'll be getting that up for you soon. We're doing more recording today. We're getting really excited because it's really starting to turn into what we've really been heading toward all this time. Expect it by October 1. July 28, 2000 I may be crazy for doing two news items in a row, but I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a gig coming up soon. Check the shows page July 27, 2000 The demo is mere weeks from being done. Almost all the recording is done. A couple of songs are already mixed. We had already mixed them for the 3-song demo, but then decided we needed more songs to make it feel complete. We have added a new member, Jason "Spoon" Lewis. He will be contributing a great many things including vocals, arranging songs, keyboard, guitar, jacked up tape recordings...pretty much anything he feels like doing. April 1, 2000 As Keanu would say, "Whoa!" It has been a long time since we updated this. And man, I was gonna keep on this thing too. oh, well. i suppose other things have been more important--like the music itself. oh, yeah. we've been keeping pretty steady on the recording. We changed our name, as you already know. We have a 3-song demo (with 2 remix versions making 5-tracks), which we haven't had the time or money to actually get ready for purchase. you know, the usual excuses. that's all for now. maybe i'll be lucky enough to be in a chatty mood next time i do this.[added later] Those songs are up on the sounds page |
